May’s RINO of the Month Award goes to one of the Legislature’s most crafty RINOs. A master of deception and folksy talk, Representative JD Williams (HD2, Goshen, Niobrara, Weston) puts on a good show in his selfie videos on social media. When he gets to Cheyenne, it’s a different story.
Like a Democrat, Representative Williams votes for huge spending hikes while denying meaningful tax relief to the people of Wyoming. He voted for $4.5 million addition to the supplemental budget for a government-sponsored July 4 party and an air race in Wyoming, despite Wyoming not being chosen as the location for said air race.
While voting to spend your money on these boondoggles, Representative Williams voted against a property tax reform bill that would have left more money in your wallets.
It’s clear who Representative Williams thinks he represents, and it’s not the people. In Cheyenne, JD fights for the government’s coffers.
