A tentative date has been scheduled for the week of July 12, 2021 for Wyoming’s legislature to hold a special session. Determining how to appropriate funds for Wyoming from Biden’s American Rescue Plan will be front and center.
In addition, there is a high likelihood that Medicaid expansion will rear its ugly head during this special session as well. Defeated during the general legislative session that just wrapped up, numerous state Republican legislators flip-flopped in their opposition to Medicaid expansion, a program that the Wyoming Republican party has opposed for years.
Much to our delight at WyoRINO, many of the newly elected Republican state legislators remained true this general session to the party platform they campaigned on. We hope that this is a sign of good things to come for our state.
